Mary Mandarino, Weaver

I've been weaving for the past 36 years and have enjoyed both the solo nature of the craft and the warm community of weavers.  As an active member of South End Woven, a collaborative weaving studio in the South End of Boston, I'm constantly inspired by the creativity of its members.  From my first introduction to weaving, I knew that weaving would play a very important part of my life. The act of weaving and the resulting cloth humble me.
 
Color in combination with weave structure is one of the main design themes running through all of my designs.   Through the process of warp painting, I am able to indulge my need for color and the desire to produce one of a kind woven pieces.
