Goose Cove Looms

Fran Osten

Working in a studio looking out on an ocean cove, my work is inspired by the constantly changing light over water and rock, the movement of waves and patterns in sand.   None of this is rectilinear and so my work strives to break out of the normal grid of traditional weaving.  While I choose to work in in an ancient,  time-honored craft, I am able to take my work  in new directions by utilizing new technologies:  designing my work on a computer and by often working on a computer assisted loom
